What Goes Where?
In terms of hardware, it goes like this:

Simple, right? :P
As for software, it's just Intensity Pro in > VLC > Jtvlc > You guys! Blackmagic did a great job supporting GNU/Linux with their drivers, and the SDK made it possible for VLC developers to make a DeckLink module for VLC, which the Jtvlc program can then broadcast.
Basically, I run two terminals. The first runs this...
cvlc -vvv decklink:// --decklink-card-index 0 --decklink-mode "ntsc" --decklink-video-connection "component" --audio-desync=1000 --sout='#duplicate{dst="transcode{vcodec=h264,vb=256,acodec=mp4a,ab=128,channels=2,samplerate=48000,audio-sync}:rtp{dst=127.0.0.1,port=1234,sdp=file:///home/flibitijibibo/vlc.sdp}"}'
... and the second runs this after the first...
./jtvlc flibitijibibo JustinTV_Broadcasting_Key_Thing ~/vlc.sdp -d
Feel free to ask if you have any other questions. I'd like for this page to be as detailed and complete as possible.

When I broadcast, I only play genuine copies of games. Since GNU/Linux isn’t all too great at streaming PC games yet, I’ll be broadcasting Nintendo games. For now my library is small since I’m not too big of a console gamer, and my Game Boy library is very small since I just started rebuilding it. Basically, don’t send me angry e-mails for not owning Sacred Game X because it is likely that haven’t gotten around to getting it, and I may have even had it many years ago. Suggestions are welcome though (particularly obscure ones, as that will probably give the broadcast more to discuss).
These are the ones that I own so far:
Game Boy (Color):
- Darkwing Duck
- Donkey Kong '94
- ~ The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX
- Mario Golf
- Pokemon (Red Version) – But it has my save on it… Nuzlocke?
- Wario Land 2
- Wario Land 3
Game Boy Advance:
- ~ The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past + Four Swords
- Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga
- Metroid Fusion
- Metroid: Zero Mission
- Sonic Advance
Nintendo 64 (Cannot broadcast yet):
- Banjo-Kazooie
- Banjo-Tooie
- Bomberman 64
- Bomberman Hero
- Mario Golf
- Mario Kart
- Mario Party
- Star Fox 64
- Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire
- Super Mario 64
- Super Smash Bros.
- Top Gear Rally
GameCube:
- 007: Agent Under Fire
- ~ Luigi’s Mansion
- Metroid Prime
- # Shadow the Hedgehog
- Super Mario Sunshine
- Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
- SSX Tricky
- # Star Fox Adventures
Wii:
- Animal Crossing: City Folk
- Donkey Kong Country Returns
- Epic Mickey
- Kirby’s Epic Yarn
- Kirby's Return to Dreamland
- The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
- # Metroid: Other M
- Metroid Prime Trilogy
- New Super Mario Bros. Wii
- Rayman Origins
- Sonic Colors
- Super Mario Galaxy
- Super Mario Galaxy 2
- ~ Super Paper Mario
- Super Smash Bros. Brawl
- Wario Land: Shake It!
~ – I haven’t actually played/finished this one yet! Might be good to stream with the “what is this fabled ‘Zelda’ thing everyone loves?” mindset.
# – Good for the “oh lord why are we willingly doing this?” mindset. Especially Other M. Ugh.
