A lot of people ask me about my soundtrack collection (read: I talk about it a lot), so here it is.

These are the game soundtracks that I’ve collected over the years. If you thought collecting games was difficult, give soundtracks a try. Some of these I know I’ll never find, either because it doesn’t exist or because it’s extremely rare (last time I saw Super Metroid: Sound in Action it was $500). Feel free to suggest other games, or even point me in the direction of one of these soundtracks.

Generally I try to get CD/FLAC versions of everything (Bandcamp is unparalleled for digital distribution), but if I can’t find either I’ll use Ogg Vorbis files. Yes, I am willing to convert from lossy to lossy. I do it for personal reasons, but you really shouldn’t do it because it’s bad for the audio quality. In my opinion, lossy is bad enough, losing already torn apart frequencies isn’t going to kill me (if anything it just gives me more incentive to find lossless versions).

I feel that I should also give a special thanks to the people at FFShrine, as their video game music database is absolutely incredible and is probably the place that I got 95% of the non-CD soundtracks from if I didn’t record it myself.

Currently I'm at 116 soundtracks. Neat!
